Rotten Tomatoes Synopsis : " An Irish gangster and his trusted lieutenant and counselor find their domination of the town threatened by an ambitious Italian underboss. Just as this threat erupts, the two sever their friendship when they realize that they love the same . When one joins ranks with the enemy, a bloody gang war erupts. Violent and compelling work from the Coen brothers."

A beautifully filmed, beautifully scripted movie with the great dialogue that we have come to expect from the Coen Brothers.

"You are so goddamn smart. Except you ain't"
"You ain't got a license to kill bookies and today I ain't sellin'. So take your flunky and dangle."
"I am gonna send you to a deep, dark place and I am gonna have fun doing it!"
"You understand that if we don't find a stiff out here, we leave a fresh one."

In his review Leonard Maltin says : "Dense and dour, it's almost doggedly off-putting at first, but gets more involving as its serpentine story unfolds."

I think that most people love this stylish, exciting and wonderful movie.
