IMDB Rating : 8.1

Rotten Tomatoes Rating :  90%  (with critics)   94%  (with audience)

Critics Consensus: Even if all it had to offer were writer-director Wong Kar-wai's thrillingly distinctive visuals, Chungking Express would be well worth watching; happily, its thoughtfully drawn characters and naturalistic performances also pack a potent dramatic wallop.

In his review Leonard says: "Light, funny, and offbeat though the second tale goes on far too long."

A very stylish comedy drama from one of the world's great directors Kar-Wai Wong.

I might have missed this movie when it came out twenty two years ago because of Leonard's 2 1/2 star rating. There are so many movies that are 3 stars or higher, it is hard to keep up with them. That's why I think it so important that movies like this get proper ratings.

There are a lot of reasons I really like this movie. It had great style. It had a beautiful look to it. I would give this movie 3 stars just for the style itself.

But I also really enjoyed the two quirky stories about two policeman and the women that they fall in love with. I thought the actors were all dynamic and charismatic.

And I also enjoyed the plots of both segments. Two heart broken cops finding love in all the wrong places.

And the music - how great was that.

Leonard missed another really good movie here.
