27. Big Night (1996)

Leonard Maltin's Rating :
Should be :

IMDB Rating : 7.1

Rotten Tomatoes Rating : 96%

Rotten Tomatoes Consensus : "The performances in Big Night are wonderful, and the food looks delicious."

Leonard says in his review "Finely tuned performances, amusing vignettes and observations make this small endeavour worthwhile, but it's too slow and quiet for its own good."

People who enjoy the cuisine at McDonald's probably won't enjoy this movie. If you thought The Dukes of Hazard was a good movie you probably won't enjoy this either.

Along with Babette's Feast, this is probably the best movie ever made about food. The acting was really, really good. Stanley Tucci was great and Tony Shalhoub was even better.

People who enjoy watching the shows on the Food Network should love this great movie.
